Nelida is an experienced and creative Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist
With her decades of working in mental health, her personal counselling experience with IFS has been a game-changer for her understanding of the inner world of people. It gave her the motivation to also train as a counsellor, hoping to facilitate this compassionate, relational, and holistic journey for others. Warmth, creativity, and humour are strengths Nelida’s clients express appreciation for.
Nelida’s nursing and managerial roles in mental health agencies have provided insight into both leadership and individual challenges. These span a wide range of issues. Her late diagnosis of ADHD influenced her master’s thesis topic on the lived experience of adult women receiving a diagnosis of ADHD. She is committed to providing neuro-affirming counselling for these individuals and groups.
She lives in Ōtautahi Christchurch with her partner and two miniature schnauzers.
